摘要: Abstract Currently many aircraft and aero engine components are machined from billets or oversize forgings. This involves significant cost, material wastage, lead-times environmental impacts. Methods to add complex features another component net-shape surface would offer a substantial cost benefit. Laser Metal Deposition (LMD), currently being applied the repair of worn damaged components, was attempted in this work as an alternative process route, build onto base component, because its low heat input capability. In work, high-rate deposition developed deposit Inconel 718 powder thin plates. Using optimised parameters, number demonstrator were successfully fabricated.
