摘要: Summary Background Increased longevity will mean an increase in people presenting with cognitive and physical disabilities, such as sight loss or dementia. The Patient Rights (Scotland) Act 2011 states that health care should be patient-focussed, taking into account patient needs. This necessitate nursing curricula to reflect the needs of who have disabilities equip future workforce knowledge skills provide appropriate care. study explores student nurses' strengths weakness when working identifies opportunities threats developing their meet this population. Methods As part a day, students from year one Nursing programme were asked take SWOT analysis post comments under categories: strengths, weakness, opportunity on central wall about disabilities. Results Students acknowledged some challenges being disabled especially setting but also believed they holistic ensured autonomy. Communication was viewed both strength identified essential skill effectively had disability. clinical staff not always experts welcomed work clients well directed resources knowledge. Conclusions Integration disability curriculum is needed ensure awareness confidence range alongside other medical problems.
