摘要: Intracranial bleeding following stereoelectroencephalography (sEEG) is rare and commonly occurs early after electrode implantation. The authors report the case of a delayed intracranial hematoma sEEG. This 10-year-old boy was referred to authors' department undergo an sEEG study for intractable epilepsy, with hypothesis single localized epileptic zone in left precentral region. To perform exploration, 14 depth electrodes were implanted under stereotactic conditions. results postoperative CT scan performed routinely at end surgical procedure normal. Eight days later, seizure, child's condition worsened. neurological examination revealed hemiparesis, agitation, coma due right subdural intraparenchymal bleeding. Despite evacuation followed by decompressive craniectomy, curative treatments stopped 1 week later severe diffuse ischemic lesions found on MRI studies. first observation procedure. mechanism underlying this complication remains unclear, but rupture growing pseudoaneurysm caused electrode's implantation or tearing neighboring vessel suspected. In consequence, physicians must remain vigilant during entire recording period probably also several removal.
