摘要: Objective Necrotizing pneumonia (PNZ) is a severe and rare complication of community-acquired pneumonia, affecting mainly children. We aimed to analyze medical records children undergoing surgical treatment for PNZ compare our results with those found in the literature. Methods Retrospective analysis children's charts who underwent an operation PNZ, between July 2006 2016, two hospitals southern Santa Catarina, Brazil. Results A total 26 median age 2.70 years mostly females (61.5%) were included current study. The main symptoms fever (88.5%) cough (65.4%). There was average use 4.31 antibiotics per patient. primary etiological agent Staphylococcus aureus (23.1%), but cultures negative 69% patients. Decortication debridement necrotic areas performed 23 patients (88.5%). mean postoperative pleural drainage 8.12 days. presence bronchopleural fistula occurred 50.0% preoperative period 46.2% postoperative. length hospital stay was, on average, 27.52 days 12.60 (mean). Postoperative complications 13 there no mortality. Conclusion approach indicated response clinical treatment. Late intervention associated progressive parenchyma infection higher rates complications. Surgery can lead better outcomes earlier recovery.
