摘要: Abstract This paper reports the result of investigation on manufacturing lightweight aggregate by mixtures low-silicon iron tailings, fly ash and powdery quartz sand. The raw materials were characterized chemical compositions, X-ray diffraction particle size. was performed in a laboratory scale to assess effects composition sintering conditions properties artificial aggregates. temperatures bloating index, loose bulk density, apparent water absorption compressive strength determined. All studied presented potential at high temperatures. index all samples is greater than 1, so types aggregates expanded products obtained microstructure phase analyzed scanning.electron microscopy (SEM) (XRD). main mineral phases hematite, anorthite, which principally responsible for mechanical analysis microstructures with SEM revealed vitrified matrix an extended formation isolated closed pores.
