摘要: ABSTRACT Objective Apathy and depression have each been associated with an increased risk of conversion from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to Alzheimer disease (AD).These symptoms often co-occur the contribution AD is not clear. Methods National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center participants diagnosed MCI at baseline followed until development or loss follow-up (n = 4,932) were included. The risks developing in patients neuropsychiatric (NPS) (apathy only, both) compared that those without NPS a multivariate Cox regression survival analysis adjusting for impairment, years smoking, antidepressant use, medication use. Results Thirty-seven percent (N = 1713) developed (median 23 months). both apathy had greatest (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.37; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.17–1.61; p Conclusion alone are greater no NPS. Interventions targeting may reduce AD.
