摘要: AIM AND BACKGROUND The hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-Met signaling system has been implicated in the development and progression of colon cancer, but relationship between expression HGF or c-MET clinicopathologic features remains controversial. In study, we analyzed c-Met cancer assessed influence this its receptor on clinical histological parameters patient survival. METHODS STUDY DESIGN We investigated mRNA with real-time PCR 90 unselected carcinomas corresponding normal mucosa. Furthermore, protein was immunohistochemistry all samples. RESULTS levels were significantly higher than matched level most cases correlated level. Overexpression c-Met, at both levels, depth invasion, lymph node metastases overall AJCC stage. According to univariate analysis, mean survival time shorter HGF-positive c-Met-positive groups. Multivariate Cox analysis showed that high M stage independently had a negative impact CONCLUSIONS HGF/c-Met pathway may be involved pathogenesis cancer. C-Met overexpression can used as useful parameter evaluate prognosis
