摘要: Ionospheric electron content (IEC) observations, made at Delhi using ATS-6 satellite, have been used to determine the incoming flux required for maintenance of nighttime ionosphere. The minimum is estimated be about 6 8×1011 el/m2/sec during winter and equinoctial months. total input 1 1.4×1016 el/m2. This appears higher than what can supplied by in field tube corresponding L=1.13. Other likely sources this are examined.
