摘要: Microorganisms have developed quorum sensing (QS) systems to detect small signaling molecules that help control access additional nutrients and space in highly competitive polymicrobial niches. Many bacterial processes are QS-regulated; two examples the related traits of natural genetic competence state production antimicrobial peptides such as bacteriocins. The Streptococcus genus is widely studied for its ability produce bacteriocins, these significant potential treatment infections caused by multiple-resistant pathogens, a severe public health issue. transduction two-component system controls streptococci: (1) ComD/E, which Mitis Anginosus groups, (2) ComR/S, performs same function Bovis, Mutans, Salivarius, Pyogenic groups. cell-to-cell communication required bacteriocin groups controlled mainly paralog ComD/E system. relationships between pheromone signals induction pathways systems. In this review, we discuss recent advances understanding biosynthesis QS regulation streptococci. This information could aid design better methods development peptides. It also contribute analysis emerging applications bacteriocins terms their safety, quality, human benefits.
