摘要: Real-time ultrasound was used to identify a foreign-body abscess causing an extraluminal esophageal obstruction in the neck of horse. Surgical exploration remove foreign body and drain performed after 2 months medical management that had failed resolve problem. The could not be visualized because there no draining tract or other localizing sign inflammation. Ultrasound aseptically guide surgical dissection walled off with minimal damage adjacent vital structures field. signs abated have recurred 15 months.
