Faraday rotation in magnetic γ-Fe2O3/SiO2 nanocomposites

摘要: Faraday rotation spectrum has been measured at room temperature in a magnetic nanocomposite of γ-Fe2O3/SiO2. The material consists isolated γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles dispersed silica matrix, and it was prepared through sol-gel method. composite contains 18% weight with an average particle size 20 nm. It coercitivity 30 Oe MS 6 emu/g. specific exhibits narrow peak centered around 765 nm, reaching value 110°/cm absorption coefficient 64 cm−1. versus applied field also measured, cycle similar to the one described by magnetization found.
