摘要: Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry analysis was used to determine the periprosthetic bone-mineral content of ten femora that had been obtained at autopsies five elderly patients who an AML (anatomic medullary locking) prosthesis in situ for seventeen eighty-four months. Clinical radiographs showed resorptive remodeling changes characteristic containing this implant. Before performed, identical inserted into contralateral, normal femur each cadaver. The mean difference between remodeled and which implanted post mortem ranged from 7 52 per cent, with always less femora. greatest decrease (45 cent) occurred adjacent proximal one-third percentage inverse linear relationship corresponding contralateral control Preoperative bone density may therefore be useful prediction extent bone-remodeling after total hip replacement.
