摘要: Organ shortage is the greatest challenge facing field of organ transplantation today. A variety approaches have been implemented to expand donor pool including live donation, a national effort deceased split paired exchange, sharing models and greater utilization expanded criteria donors. Increased public awareness, improved efficiency donation process, expectations for transplantation, expansion living development standardized management protocols led unprecedented rates procurement transplantation. Although donors after brain death account majority donors, in recent years there has growing interest who severe irreversible injuries but do not meet death. If physician family agree that patient no chance recovery meaningful life, life support can be discontinued allowed progress circulatory arrest then still donate organs (donation death). Increasing marginal advocated address shortage.
