摘要: Mucosal melanoma of the head and neck is a rare aggressive tumor entity with poor prognosis. The standard treatment radical resection, or without adjuvant radiation, where conventional chemotherapies in advanced stage recurrent diseases have shown little benefit. Overexpression programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) common feature human cancer. Although PD-L1 an acknowledged prognostic biomarker for dismal prognosis other tumors neck, expression clinical relevance mucosal not been addressed so far. We assessed using immunohistochemical staining 23 samples from patients primary correlated status clinicopathological outcome data. Tumors were derived nasal cavity (43.5%), sinuses conjunctiva (13%). All had undergone surgery; 39% all received radiation 13% administered systemic interferon therapy. probability 1- 5-year overall survival was 87 34.8%, respectively. mean 51 months recurrence-free months. Immunohistochemical showed (3/23) melanoma. In contrast, prominent detected 100% tissue sections control group cutaneous (n=9). age, sex, nor anatomical localization tumor. Interestingly, PD-L1-positive significantly longer (P=0.026). contrast to some malignancies, relevant overexpression could be confirmed.
