摘要: Research on horticultural therapy approaches suggest that its positive impact clients may extend beyond direct rehabilitation or vocational gains to more generally improved well-being. Persons in programs relate gardening as a previously enjoyed past time, new activity for either leisure employment purposes. While is popular many countries, few studies have looked at what specific activities community-based populations pursue. As part of larger mail-out survey looking interests mid-aged women, sub-sample physically disabled women was compared healthy age-matched and interests. Physical psychological functioning well-being were also sampled. Both groups completed the SF-36 Health Survey Australia/New Zealand, Symptom Checklist-90-Revised, questionnaire tapping hours per month these activities, well reasons pursuing gardening. Group differences emerged physical variables, but virtually all group minimal. Overall findings this sample presence disability limitation did not adversely affect their access enjoyment activities.
