摘要: This article analyses the impact on local economy of an emergency cash–transfer programme in rural Malawi. The results are interest, given growing use cash transfers as development aid well increasing popularity such a form social protection across sub–Saharan Africa. It uses accounting matrix to show that there widespread benefits for regional whole (with multiplier estimates 2.02 2.45), especially during most ‘lean’ periods year, and small farmers businesses particular, this is where poorer households' purchases focused; education health also benefit.
