The European distribution of insects on stinging nettles, Urtica dioica L.: a field survey

摘要: Abstract A survey tour was made to examine the insect fauna of Urtica dioica in central and southern Europe compare it with that Britain. Forty‐five sites were sampled mainly Italy Germany. The range habitats occupied by U. is described. Over 100 species 6 orders identified which about 48 phytophagous several predatory are consi dered be closely or commonly associated host plant. Some regional variations found but basically quite similar throughout area covered.
