摘要: Reaumur (1738) was perhaps the first biologist to express wonder at great diversity of fecundities seen among insects. Although this is better documented today than in Reaumur’s time, we are only slightly closer understanding why it exists, or related species differ number eggs they produce. For parasitoids, knowledge selective factors acting on egg production and results natural selection necessary for a full coevolution host parasitoid, parasitoid population dynamics, community ecology, development predictive science biological control using introduced parasitoids.
