摘要: Intracellular recordings were obtained from single visual cells of the scallop, Pecten irradians. Two types units are found. One type gives a graded, depolarizing response to light and other hyperpolarizing response. The 2–3 log more sensitive have longer latency than type. At high intensities inactivated while maintain their responses. When action potentials seen they occur during illumination in ("on" response) after ("off" response). evidence suggests that responses microvilli-brearing proximal cells, ciliary-type distal retina, both directly produced by light.
