摘要: Melanized Cryptococcus neoformans cells were less susceptible than nonmelanized to the fungicidal effects of nitrogen- and oxygen-derived oxidants. The results support hypothesis that phenoloxidase enzyme system contributes virulence by protecting C. against oxidative antimicrobial molecules produced immune effector cells.
