摘要: We identify two aspects of the problem maintaining perceptual stability despite an observer's eye movements. The first, visual direction constancy, is (egocentric) apparent positions objects in world relative to perceiver. second, position (exocentric) each other. analyze constancy saccadic movements.Three information sources have been proposed enable system achieve stability: structure field, proprioceptive inflow, and a copy neural efference or outflow extraocular muscles. None these by itself provides adequate constancy; present evidence indicates that all three are used. Our final question concerns how processing operations result stable world. traditionally suggested means elimination, translation, evaluation. All rejected. From review physiological psychological we conclude no subtraction, compensation, evaluation need take place. for which solutions were developed turns out be false one. propose “calibration” solution: correct spatiotopic calculated anew fixation. Inflow, outflow, retinal used this calculation: suppression displacement bridges errors between actual extent movement.
