摘要: The relationship between sizes of trees cut by beavers and distances from the borders their ponds was examined at three sites in central Massachusetts. For most tree genera, a smaller range far shore than close to shore, relatively more small fewer large greater distances. second these results differs pattern preference found other studies which predators were much larger prey, unlike this case feeding on trees. Both kinds are consistent with an optimal foraging model size—distance relations pursuit or provisioning time depends size prey as well distance (Schoener 1979).
