Noninvertible fingerprint transforms: Categorization of design mechanisms and discussion of evaluation techniques

摘要: The explosive growth in fingerprint technologies within the past decade has seen emergence of a dedicated field research into securing templates during storage database. While new template protection techniques are often broadly classified as belonging to well-known salting, noninvertible transforms, key binding, or generation categories, methods each category currently lacking sense organization. This article aims fill this gap by proposing categorization transforms based on their design mechanisms. Our survey current literature reveals two prominent types approaches, so we classify existing main categories: perturbation-based and histogram-based. We also discuss evaluation used assess robustness literature. These contributions will serve help researchers find bearing growing field, thereby encouraging deeper understanding faster progress development more effective schemes.
