摘要: The purpose of the present work is to quantify correlation structure simulated velocity fields in heterogeneous permeability and discuss how represent it upscaled transport models. We investigate field for multinormal log fields. distributions are analyzed a Lagrangian framework, i.e., along particles' paths. To different spatial organization low- high-velocity zones, we condition estimated length time on initial particle velocity. found increase with velocity, following power law. Such an effect likely due channeling which implies that particles keep memory their over longer distances high velocities than low velocities. Two distinct regimes identified time. For controlled by large needed escape from zones. sample whole field, particular One consequences these results such nonlinear dependence both restricts se or temporal Markovian assumptions modeling transitions effective
