摘要: Abstract We investigated the surface damage of CaF 2 induced by irradiation with 248 nm 14 ns laser pulses. Experiments were carried out in single shot mode air. The photoacoustic deflection technique was utilized for situ detection and irradiated spots inspected scanning electron microscopy. Fracture along natural cleavage planes observed. Comparison cleaved polished samples connection modelling thermoelastic response crystal during reveals that polishing causes enhanced absorption. Damage topography at periphery used to obtain a rough estimate temperature rise leading fracture. Electron microscopy shows modifications weakly where no ablation or cracking could be detected.
