摘要: The invention provides independent guidance and monitoring to be integrated into an MLS landing system also a scaled-down useable at small airports. In both cases added fixed beam precision is the time sequence format. based upon concept of using paired overlapping beams, sequentially radiated by different antennas. One pair oriented left right centerline runway, other above below desired glideslope. first set beams overlap runway in such manner that aircraft approaching exactly on will intercept equal signal intensities indicate on-course approach. Conversely when off-course one side centerline, it stronger intensity for which directed weaker centerline. Similar operation provided overlapped operating elevation mode.
