Approaching perfect microwave photodetection in circuit QED

摘要: In order to apply all ideas from quantum optics the field of circuits, one missing ingredients is a high-efficiency single-photon detector. this work we propose design for such device which successfully reaches 100% efficiency with only absorber. Our photon detector consists three-level system (a phase qubit) coupled semi-infinite one-dimensional waveguide microwave transmission line) performs highly efficient photodetection in simplified manner as compared previous proposals. Using tools extensively study scattering properties realistic wave packets against device, thereby computing We find that has many operating modes, can detect detuned photons, robust imperfections, and be made broadband by using more than absorbing element design. Many these could translated other single-mode photonic or plasmonic waveguides interacting atoms dots.
