摘要: Abstract Since the first experimental reports on one-to-one dependence of work function, ΦW, gas-exposed catalyst working electrode surface potential VWR in solid state electrochemistry, i.e. e Δ V WR = Φ W subject has attracted considerable attention and several laboratories have confirmed its validity. In a recent letter Williams Aldao [Surf. Sci. 425 (1999) L387] questioned currently accepted rationalization above equation concluded that it cannot be rationalized or derived when is grounded. this paper we summarize results analyze underlying electrochemical science concepts to show equation, involving thermodynamic properties, does not depend which, if any, The physical origin limitations are also discussed light spectroscopic investigations.
