摘要: Rigid cuticular structures that generate high friction by mechanical interlocking with substrate protuberances are the most abundant attachment devices in arthropods. Here we review different types of such arachnids. The claws appendages primarily to increase foothold on walking and climbing substrates, but may also be important means prey capture, which often comes structural modifications.
