摘要: [1] Northern Hemisphere (NH) blocking climatology is examined using a subset of climate models participating in the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 5 (CMIP5). Both historical and Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 8.5 integrations are analyzed to evaluate performance CMIP5 identify possible changes NH frequency duration warmer climate. Comparison with reanalysis data reveals that can reproduce reasonably well, although Euro-Atlantic blockings, particularly those relatively short duration, significantly underestimated during cold season. In most models, overestimation Pacific also evident for all durations throughout year. comparison integrations, RCP show significant decreases over both North north Atlantic regions, hint increasing western Russia. However, there no noticeable change individual events durations.
