Detection of circulating galactomannan by Pastorex Aspergillus in experimental invasive aspergillosis.

摘要: The performance of Pastorex Aspergillus, a new latex agglutination test for the detection circulating galactomannan in serum patients with invasive aspergillosis, was evaluated blind trial standardized guinea-pig models aspergillosis and other mycoses. In these animal models, nature fungal infection confirmed by re-isolation etiologic agent from organs every animal. Ninety-two plasma samples 42 animals were submitted to test. 41 animals, at least one sample positive (sensitivity 97.6%), titers ranging 1/1 1/512. general, antigen increased as function time, reaching highest values shortly before death. Guinea-pigs infected Penicillium marneffei also yielded reactions but lower (maximal titer 1/8). Plasma candidosis (23), disseminated trichophytosis (11) cryptococcosis (23) all negative 80 guinea-pigs without infection, 3 false results (titers 1/1) observed, which means specificity 96.2% this control group.
