摘要: The Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) is one of the world’s premiere test reactors for performing long term, high flux, and/or large volume irradiation programs. ATR a very versatile facility with wide variety experimental capabilities providing environment needed in an experiment. These include simple capsule experiments, instrumented temperature-controlled and pressurized water loop experiment facilities. Monitoring systems have also been utilized to monitor different parameters such as fission gases fuel measure specimen performance during irradiation. ATR’s control system provides stable axial flux profile throughout each reactor operating cycle, allows thermal fast neutron fluxes be controlled separately sections core. positions vary diameter from 16 mm 127 over active core height 1.2 m. This paper discusses examples experiments cost/benefit issues related capability. recent designation national scientific user will make much more accessible at low no cost research by universities possibly commercial entities.
