摘要: To control the effect of concrete expansion or contraction on integrity bridge structures, thermal coefficient is often incorporated into design equations. Current practice to use value recommended by Association American State Highway and Transportation Officials 11 parts per million °C (6 °F) change. Historically this has been used without considering local material properties overall concrete. This paper summarizes research findings behavior structural concretes in Iowa. The limestone aggregates, gravel mortar, corresponding aggregate concretes, were determined laboratory. Laboratory results compared actual data from field studies an empirical equation for determining expansion. Results laboratory study very favorably equation. also indicated that coefficients obtained lower than suggested value. These values affect length integral abutment bridges
