摘要: Available molecular and biochemical data offer conflicting evidence for the origin of cyanelle Cyanophora paradoxa. We show that similarity green chloroplast sequences is probably a result these two lineages independently developing same pattern directional nucleotide change (substitutional bias). This finding suggests caution should be exercised in interpretation sequence analyses appear to favor view common endosymbiont chlorophyll-b-containing chloroplasts. The approaches needed resolve issue origins are discussed. Our findings also have general implications phylogenetic inference under conditions where base compositions (compositional bias) analyzed differ.
