摘要: Abstract Background Excessive fluid retention is a serious complication after the maze procedure that cannot be totally explained by changes in levels of atrial natriuretic peptide. We therefore measured circulating arginine vasopressin and aldosterone patients undergoing to study their possible role this postoperative complication. Methods Serial were monitored for 72 hours 11 coronary artery bypass grafting 13 procedure. Hemodynamic data, urine output, balance, complications recorded prospectively during same period time. Results Plasma significantly higher when compared with grafting. Conclusions This documents results increased plasma indicates they, rather than peptide alone, participate excessive follows believe these hormone elevations are most likely secondary temporary lack response baroreceptors. These may explain effectiveness spironolactone therapy
