摘要: In rat hepatocytes, DNA damage by t-butyl hydroperoxide (tBOOH) was measured using the fluorimetric analysis of alkaline unwinding. The electrophoretic profile genomic suggests single rather than double strand breaks formation. Oxidative modifications, as increased 8-hydroxy-deoxyguanosine content, were not detected. Lysis hepatocytes and induced tBOOH did correlate, indicating that both processes are interconnected. Since o-phenanthroline prevents against tBOOH-mediated effects on membrane integrity, we discussed about a putative role iron.
