摘要: The present study focuses prudent elucidation of microbial pollution and antibiotic sensitivity profiling the fecal coliforms isolated from River Cauvery, a major drinking water source in Karnataka, India. Water samples were collected ten hotspots during year 2011-2012. physiochemical characteristics count most exhibited greater biological oxygen demand bacterial especially comparison with control (p <= 0.01). testing was performed using 48 antibiotics against isolates by disk-diffusion assay. current showed that out 848 isolates, 93.51 % (n=793) found to be multidrug-resistant generation antibiotics. Among 96.46 (n=273) 30 they identified Escherichia coli 16S rDNA gene sequencing. Similarly, 93.85 (n=107), 94.49 (n=103), 90.22 (n=157) multiple drug resistance 32, 40, 37 antibiotics, Enterobacter cloacae, Pseudomonas trivialis, Shigella sonnei, respectively. molecular studies suggested prevalence blaTEM genes all four dhfr Sh. sonnei. Analogously, other Gram-negative bacteria Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus spp. methicillin vancomycin-resistant aureus. This is probably first elucidating
