摘要: Thirteen out of 19 male patients aged sixteen years and above who had clinically diagnosed chronic African endomyocardial fibrosis (E.M.F.) some clinical evidence feminization. Serum was obtained from ten assayed together with serum age- sex-matched normal controls for testosterone. The testosterone level in the 10 E.M.F. uniformly below lowest level, mean significantly lower than controls. Persistent severe hepatic congestion may lead to feminization long before cardiac cirrhosis occurs.
