摘要: In recent years, tropical forests have received more attention and been the subject of greater environmental concern than any other kind vegetation. There is an increasing public awareness importance these forests, not only as a diminishing source countless products used by mankind, nor for their effects on soil stabilization climate, but unrivalled sources what today we call biodiversity. Threats to continued existence represent threats tens thousands species organisms, both plants animals. It all surprising, therefore, that there no major scientific accounts published in years since classic handbook Paul W. Richards, The Tropical Rain Forest 1952. Some excellent popular rain including Richard's Life Jungle, Catherine Caulfield's Rainforest Jungles, edited Edward Ayensu. numerous, often conflicting, assessments rate conversion uses explanations underlying causes, 1978 UNESCO/UNEPI FAO massive report, Forest, which, although full useful information, highly selective does fully survey enormous diversity forests.
