摘要: Ninety-five postmenopausal women with unequivocably wedged or compressed vertebrae in whom the recognised causes of secondary osteoporosis had been excluded were studied, 41 having no treatment and rest one more six different treatments. The regimens comprised calcium supplements, vitamin D, ethinyloestradiol or--where oestrogens contraindicated--norethisterone, 1 alpha-hydroxycholecalciferol (1 alpha-OHD3), hormones alpha-OHD3. seven groups reasonably comparable most respects except that hormone-treated patients younger a higher initial cortical area ratio than others, calcium- best radio-calcium absorption. untreated osteoporotic lost bone rapidly do normal women. Three treatments (calcium, hormones, alpha OHD3 plus hormones) appear to be useful modifying disease, two (vitamin D alpha-OHD3) useless even harmful. Vitamin alpha-OHD3 are safely used conjunction oestrogens, which protect against resorption, on their own.
