Facile Synthesis and Phase Behaviors of Monofunctionalized Hexa‐peri‐hexabenzocoronenes

摘要: Five different kinds of monofunctionalized hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronenes (HBCs) are synthesized by loading dialkyl-diphenylacetylenes and asymmetric diphenylacetylene derivatives at the same time. This method shortens synthetic route half, with four fewer steps compared commonly used approach. In addition, this is more economic environmentally friendly. The self-assembling properties molecules greatly influenced substituted alkyl side chains. From short linear hexyl chain (C6) to longer n-dodecyl (C12) then branched (C10,6), transition temperature from crystalline phase liquid (LC) that LC isotropic (Iso) state both decrease. Furthermore, ester group far away aromatic core its length also important variables control behaviors molecules. typical long-range ordered hexagonal lattice (Colh phase) found for all in their states.
