摘要: Tissue-engineered cardiac constructs are a high potential therapy for treating myocardial infarction. These therapies have the ability to regenerate or recreate functional myocardium following infarction, restoring some of lost function heart and thereby preventing congestive failure. Three key factors consider when developing engineered tissue include cell source, choice scaffold, use biomimetic culture conditions. This review details various biomaterials scaffold types that been used generate tissues as well number different methods fabrication these constructs. Specific bioreactor design considerations creating equivalents in vitro, such oxygen nutrient delivery physical stimulation, also discussed. Lastly, brief overview vivo studies conducted date their assessment benefit repairing injured with is provided.
