摘要: The skin, the largest organ of human body, forms a flexible interface between our internal and external environment that protects organism from exogenous compounds as well excessive water loss. stratum corneum (SC), outermost layer mammal epidermis, is mainly responsible for skin impermeability. SC formed by corneocytes embedded in lipid matrix, which mostly constituted ceramides (Cer), free fatty acids (FFA), cholesterol (Chol), organized two coexisting crystalline lamellar phases. This arrangement lipids crucial to barrier function. aim this paper determine impact FFA chain length on phase behavior model membranes using solid-state deuterium NMR IR spectroscopy. We studied ternary mixtures N-lignoceroyl-d-erythro-sphingosine (Cer24), cholesterol, palmitic (FFA16) or lignoceric (FFA24) acid an equimolar ratio. proportion replicates composition found matrix. Our studies revealed Cer24/FFA/Chol strongly affected FFA. formation phase-separated domains when whereas use results more homogeneous mixture. In addition, it was observed with form gel phase, very unusual feature mixtures.
