摘要: Abstract Rod penetrators with 95W–3.75Ni–1.25Fe fine-grained tungsten heavy alloy (fine-grained 95W) and conventional rod the same chemical composition (conventional were subjected to ballistic impact compare their penetration performance. “Self-sharpening” behavior an average 10.5% increase in depth compared 95W penetrators. An acute head remained on SEM results revealing many micro-cracks small debris surface layer of head. The stress-strain curves collected Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) experiment showed that critical failure strain values 0.12 0.39 at rate 2×10 3  s −1 3.9×10 , respectively, approximately 40% 10% lower than those 95W. dynamic strength 2100 MPa 2520 MPa, which 500 MPa 520 MPa higher relationship among microstructure, mechanical property “self-sharpening” is discussed this work.
