摘要: The East Kolkata Wetland, called the ‘kidney’ of city has now become a significant issue for its gradual loss and modification anthropogenic activities. A socioeconomic elucidation had been used in this article through analysis using GIS field observation. Changes wetland area have determined from 1991 to 2017 with Landsat images accuracy assessment ground truth verification. It is seen that 2001 was 23.55% where it 7.34% 2011 2017, mainly due result land transformation aquaculture activity. Hence, three phases degradation observed study, these are: phase rapid degradation, controlled transforming degraded. At same time, it’s highlighted loophole management actions. multi-criteria technique analytic hierarchy process applied determine risk factors expansion built-up area, encroachment cropland, into fishing ponds are responsible degradation. In conclusion, highlights approaches developers real estate agents their hunting emergence consequences on environment as well conserving sustainable management.
