摘要: THE oscillation of membrane potential in mammalian central neurons is interest because it relates to the role oscillations brain function. It has been proposed that entorhinal cortex (EC), particularly stellate cells layer II (ECIIscs), plays an important part genesis theta rhythm1–3. These occupy a key position neocortex-hippocampus-neocortex circuit, crucial crossroad memory functions4,5. Neuronal typically rely on activation voltage-dependent Ca2+ conductances and Ca2+-dependent K+ conductance usually follows6,7, as seen other limbic subcortical structures generating rhymicity8–10. Here we report, however, similar are generated ECIIscs by Na+ conductance. The finding subthreshold, voltage-gated, Na+-dependent rhythmic indicates rhythmicity heterogeneous neuronal networks may be supported different sets intrinsic ionic mechanisms each elements involved.
