摘要: Changes in net photosynthetic rate on a leaf area basis and anatomical properties during development were studied an evergreen broad-leaved tree, Castanopsis sieboldii annual herb, Phaseolus vulgaris. In C. sieboldii, surface of mesophyll cells facing the intercellular air spaces (S mes ) was already considerable at time full expansion (FLE). However, chloroplasts c ), chlorophyll Rubisco contents increased to attain their maximal values 15-40 d after FLE. contrast, P. vulgaris, chloroplast number basis, S 10 before FLE two three times greater than steady-state levels attained around internal CO 2 transfer conductance (g i slightly for but then decreased toward later stages. Limitation photosynthesis by g only about 10% FLE, 30% 40 The large limitation probably due decrease concentration caused increases thickness cell walls content per area. These results clearly showed that: (1) proceeded more slowly continued well whereas vulgaris these processes synchronously completed FLE; (2) leaves markedly limited . From results, it is suggested that, trees, mechanical protection has priority over efficient quick construction chloroplasts.
