摘要: Total mercury concentrations in water, sediments and fish from the gold-mining areas of Brazil, especially Amazon region, are presented. Mercury were variable among rivers, with highest values found samples tributary forest rivers. Concentrations water varied between 0.1 8.6 micrograms l-1, while bottom they reached 19,800 kg-1. edible parts locally consumed up to 2700 kg-1 wet wt, surpassing by almost five times Brazilian advisory level for human consumption.
