摘要: Advance care planning (ACP) is a framework used to describe the process of end-oflife planning. ACP includes four behaviors: completing living will that documents end-of-life wishes, appointing health proxy (HCP), discussing use interventions with loved ones, and quality versus quantity life ones. Studies have found number individuals engaging in low. Further, even those who completed HCP often insufficient communication ones regarding their leading discordant care. The present study constructs from Transtheoretical Model (TTM) examine predictors associated surrogates’ (N= 216) readiness (i.e., Stage Change) help one complete behaviors. Exploratory analyses including Analyses Variance (ANOVAs) correlations examined surrogate age, race, gender, experience medical decision making relationship older patient, frequency contact, perceived positive consequences behaviors (Pros), negative consequence (Cons), attitudes values cultural beliefs (AVCB) as potential assist A series multiple regressions showed across behaviors, only Cons was significant predictor Change, suggesting surrogates more ACP, they were less ready support patient process. This result not consistent other TTM research, which Pros Self Efficacy are generally stronger Change. also examines level agreement between patients on engage Difference scores Stages Change counterpart reflected discrepancies for ANOVAs relationships variables. distributions revealed participate than patients, indicating may play an important role patients’ Increased age creating will. Female gender higher ratings interventions. Higher significantly discuss interventions, life. AVCB Future longitudinal research provide information these
