摘要: Aerosol extinction reduces direct normal irradiance significantly. Currently, aerosol climatologies with a coarse temporal and spatial resolution are used in solar surface schemes based on satellite imagery. The paper assesses numerical modeling of aerosols as the science community and demonstrates influence different data sets irradiances. It compares a daily numerical versus state art use monthly mean climatologies. Additionally, modeled aerosol optical depth is validated against ground measurements potential improved normal irradiance shown. Finally, long-term evaluation occurrence days significant mineral dust various regions world shown mineral dominating component in the belt.
